This article walks you through setting it all up!
Is anyone experiencing an issue where their sent mail does not get stored in outlook 2007. Tried to set it so sent mail is stored in IMAP folder of choice but does not work.
Can you check if the "IMAP path prefix" field has anything in it? You'll want to set it to "inbox" to ensure it's stored on the true default Sent folder instead of a secondary one that Outlook creates if you don't have an IMAP path prefix. Let us know where it is saving sent mail (of it it's not saving them anywhere) if that doesn't do the trick!
Thanks for responding. I do indeed have INBOX as the Root folder path. I can't seem to find a copy of sent mail saved anywhere, locally or in a folder of choice. i've checked the webmail and nothing there either.
I have a two additional IMAP accounts setup, both google, and they are behaving as they should be when storing sent mail.
I also have this account setup on my Samsung GS6 and that setup works and stores sent mails as expected. when i check webmail, only mail sent from mobile device saves mail to sent folder.
Hi tkontn! Thanks for the additional details. If you are also using Outlook 2007, could you please click on Tools, Account Settings, double-click on the IMAP account, click on "More Settings" and then click the Folders tab? You want to make sure it's selected for the second option (which I believe you already tried) I just want to make sure the folder you are selecting there is simply called "Sent". A log of IMAP users actually have several sent folders (Sent, Sent Items, Sent Messages, etc) which are created by different devices that don't have the IMAP folders mapped properly, so I just wanted to make sure you were selecting the one just called "Sent". (The screen shot was from an emulator so I couldn't select the correct "choose an existing folder" option. My apologies!)
Also, it might not make any different but just wanted to see if you changed the IMAP path prefix to "Inbox" instead of "INBOX" as I'm not 100% sure if it is case sensitive or not. Thanks!
