This question is answered.
In the FILES Object section On the .NET samples page (https://github.com/rackspace/openstack.net/wiki/Rackspace-Cloud-Files-Code-Samples) it says:
var cloudFilesProvider = new CloudFilesProvider(cloudIdentity);
ObjectStore deleteObjectResponse = cloudFilesProvider.DeleteObject("container name", "test.jpg");
I translated that 2nd linet into VB.NET as: Dim deleteObjectResponse As ObjectStore = filesProvider.DeleteObject("MDBPOREOPICS", photo.Link)which produces the ERROR:"Expression does not produce a value."That error means that filesProvider.DeleteObject() is a "Sub" in VB or a void function in C.How does one detect the results of the FILE Object's DeleteObject() function?Thanks,Sean
I created an issue to check the wiki examples for accuracy and consolidate them to the proper documentation location. You can subscribe to this issue to receive a notification when it is complete.
The specific call you are looking for is documented on the following page. Unfortunately, the OpenStack Object Storage API does not define the behavior of the service in the event that an object fails to delete properly, so the documentation for the .NET SDK cannot be more specific than documenting that a ResponseException indicates that some failure occurred while making the REST API call.
